Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1. General Information

The International Journal of Pedagogy and Education (IJPE) welcomes original research articles, review papers, and conceptual studies related to pedagogy and educational practices across disciplines.

Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

2. Scope of Submission

The journal accepts manuscripts in, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Curriculum development and instructional design
  • Teaching and learning strategies
  • Educational technology and digital learning
  • Game-based learning and serious games
  • Assessment and evaluation in education
  • Higher-order thinking skills and critical thinking
  • STEM/STEAM education
  • Teacher education and professional development
  • Innovation in pedagogy and classroom practices
  • Inclusive and equitable education

Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English.

Length

  • Research Articles: 5,000–8,000 words
  • Review Articles: 4,000–7,000 words

Format

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Page numbers included

4. Structure of the Manuscript

Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

  • Title (concise and informative)
  • Abstract (150–250 words)
  • Keywords (3–5 keywords)
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review (if applicable)
  • Methodology
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Acknowledgments (optional)
  • References

5. Citation and Referencing Style

The journal uses APA Style (7th Edition).

In-text citation examples:

  • Single author: (Smith, 2020)
  • Two authors: (Johnson & Lee, 2021)
  • Three or more authors: (Brown et al., 2022)

Reference list examples:

Journal Article:
Smith, J. A. (2020). Improving learning strategies in education. Journal of Education Research, 15(2), 120–135. https://doi.org/xxxxx

Book:
Johnson, R. (2019). Technology integration in education. Springer.

Book Chapter:
Lee, M. (2021). Digital tools in learning. In R. Brown (Ed.), Innovations in education (pp. 45–60). Routledge.

All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa.

6. Tables, Figures, and Equations

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.
  • Each must include a clear caption.
  • Images must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Equations should be editable (use Equation Editor if applicable).

7. Ethical Considerations

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is free from plagiarism.
  • Proper acknowledgment of sources is provided.
  • Ethical approval is obtained for research involving human participants.
  • All authors have approved the final manuscript.

The journal may use plagiarism detection software to screen submissions.

8. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Authors are required to:

  • Register as an author
  • Complete all required metadata
  • Upload the manuscript file
  • Confirm compliance with submission requirements

Incomplete submissions will not be processed.

9. Open Access Policy

IJPE provides immediate open access to its content to support the global exchange of knowledge.

  • ☐ Tables, figures, and equations are properly formatted and captioned.
  • ☐ All references are complete and formatted in APA 7th Edition.
  • ☐ The manuscript is free from plagiarism.
  • ☐ Ethical approval has been obtained (if applicable).
  • ☐ The author(s) agree to the journal’s copyright and open access policy.
